JORFOR'S HALL

The twin sister of Bjorn, Birna currently serves as steward of his household.

 

Her husband Helgi was banner-bearer to Earl Thorfinn Skull-Splitter, son of Torf-Einarr who was first Earl of Orkney. He died, along with all three of her sons, in battles to secure land in Caithness from the Scots. She became very sick with grief, and had no choice but to join the household of her brother Bjorn who was Hersir under Earl Thorfinn. In the depths of her illness she dreamed many dreams, of gods and monsters and men, and ever-talented in many things she became a skald; so now when she is not in charge of the household at Stennis, she travels with her family, entertaining them on long journeys with the skaldic arts.​
