OTTAR
They call Ottar 'The Bearded Huntsman'. Nobody knows whither he goes, all they say is that one day he will just appear, as though he has always been there; no one saw him arrive, and they never see him leave. They say he is born of land and sea and walks among both as their brother... but the truth is known to only few.
He comes from the true north, up in the Lofoten Islands. Born among the islands, he is a sailor without compare, but it is as a huntsmen where he gained his renown. He has travelled extensively across Norway, and has spent time among the Sami people, learning from their unique wisdom.
Whilst hunting one day, he came across Jorfor out in the wilds, and was impressed by his skills and abilities as a hunter and trapper. They formed a bond of mutual respect, and Ottar agreed to sell his goods in Dýrøy in the times when he came among people. Ottar has also agreed to be shipmaster for Jorfor’s longer sea voyages.
